The pediatric neuropsychology service was developed by the Neuropsychology Program at Rhode Island Hospital to meet the growing need for comprehensive and integrated assessments of children with brain and central nervous system dysfunction. We focus on children and adolescents with a diverse range of medical, neurological, and neurodevelopmental disorders that impact thinking, learning, or socio-behavioral functioning. We also evaluate some adults with developmental or medical disorders dating from childhood.
Our goal is to help families and providers better understand a child's strengths and weaknesses in order to help a child learn, grow and reach his or her potential.

Children are referred to the Pediatric Neuropsychology Service from within and outside Rhode Island Hospital, including neurologists, neurosurgeons, oncologists, psychiatrists, psychologists, pediatricians, other physicians and nursing personnel and school systems.
