There are three facets of treatment for patients who have primary immunodeficiency: preventing and managing infections; reinforcing the immune system through immunoglobulin replacement, antibiotics, growth factor treatments; and treatments that address the underlying cause, such as gene therapy and bone marrow transplantation.
