Cardiologist

Shirlene Obuobi, MD, is a cardiologist with the Cardiovascular Institute who has a special interest in women’s heart health.

Dr. Obuobi has presented at conferences and collaborated on medical research published in academic journals. Her research interests include health equity and narrative and graphic medical communications that use storytelling or comic book formats to educate at risk and underserved populations about cardiovascular disease.

She earned a medical degree from the University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine, where she also completed a cardiology fellowship, an internal medicine residency, and an internship in the department of medicine. 

Dr. Obuobi extends her interest in the human heart writing romance novels, two of which have been published.
