Search results will first present, in alphabetical order, physicians employed or contracted with Brown University Health or its affiliates, followed by an alphabetical listing of physicians who are in Brown University Health’s network of affiliated providers. At the end of that initial list, you can access an alphabetical listing of community physicians with privileges at Brown University Health hospitals. All physicians in Find a Doctor have the opportunity to have a picture or video posted on the site. Neither the order of physicians, nor the presence or absence of a photo or video, in Find a Doctor is intended to reflect any preference, priority, or recommendation by Brown University Health. Find a Doctor search results are also not based on the volume or value of referrals to Brown University Health or its affiliates from any listed physician. Users are free to select their physician of choice from among all Brown University Health-affiliated medical staff physicians.

Rachna Kataria, MD
Cardiologist
Rachna Kataria, MD, is a cardiologist with the Brown University Health Cardiovascular Institute. She received her medical degree from the Seth G.S. Medical College in Mumbai, India. She completed her residency in internal medicine at the Yale University School of Medicine. She earned fellowships in both adult clinical cardiology from the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in Bronx, NY and advanced heart failure and transplant cardiology from Harvard Medical School.
Dr. Kataria'a research interests include management of cardiogenic shock with a focus on temporary mechanical circulatory support, myocardial recovery, and building collaborative networks of cardiogenic shock care, as well as patient selection and management of durable mechanical circulatory support in advanced heart failure. She is also passionate about improving uptake of guideline-directed medical therapy for patients with heart failure and access to equitable care.
She is a member of the American College of Cardiology, the American Heart Association, the Heart Failure Society of America, and the International Society of Heart and Lung Transplantation.
