Philip Haines, MD, MPH, is director, structural and interventional echocardiography and associate director, echocardiography laboratory at the Brown University Health Cardiovascular Institute at Rhode Island Hospital. He is also an assistant professor at The Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University.

Dr. Haines received his undergraduate and medical degree from the University of Oxford in England. Prior to practicing in the US, he pursued residency training in Oxford and London and was elected a member of the Royal College of Physicians, United Kingdom (MRCPUK). He also completed an internship and residency in internal medicine and his cardiology fellowship at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia. 

Dr. Haines was a Fulbright Scholar at Harvard University, where he earned a master’s degree in public health. His medical interests include advanced echocardiography, interventional and structural echocardiography, multi-modality cardiac imaging, and diastolic dysfunction.
