Martina Azar, PhD

Neuropsychologist

Martina Azar, PhD, is a clinical neuropsychologist with Brown University Health’s Neuropsychology Program.

Dr. Azar earned her bachelor's degree in human development from Cornell University in Ithaca, New York. She earned her master’s in clinical psychology and her doctorate in philosophy in clinical psychology from Drexel University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Dr. Azar then completed her internship in clinical psychology with a clinical neuropsychology track and her post-doctoral fellowship in clinical neuropsychology at the VA Boston Healthcare System. She also previously completed an advanced geriatrics fellowship at the New England Geriatric Research Education and Clinical Center, Veteran Health Affairs in Boston, Massachusetts.

Dr. Azar also currently works as a clinical neuropsychologist at Boston Neuropsychological Services in Needham, Massachusetts. She has written many publications, most recently in subjective cognitive decline, and the relationship between sociodemographic factors and help seeking in dementia. She is passionate about working to improve tailored culturally informed treatment for individuals with cognitive concerns. Dr. Azar is a member of the American Academy of Clinical Neuropsychology, International Neuropsychology Society, and the American Psychological Association (APA; Division 40, Division 22). She has previously served as Diversity Liaison of the Early Career Neuropsychologist Committee of the APA and science committee member of the Hispanic Neuropsychology Society. She is also fluent in Spanish.
