Selection is based upon your needs and preferences. Search results will first present, in alphabetical order, physicians employed or contracted with Brown University Health or its affiliates, followed by an alphabetical listing of physicians who are in Brown University Health’s network of affiliated providers. At the end of that initial list, you can access an alphabetical listing of community physicians with privileges at Brown University Health hospitals. All physicians in Find a Doctor have the opportunity to have a picture or video posted on the site. Neither the order of physicians, nor the presence or absence of a photo or video, in Find a Doctor is intended to reflect any preference, priority, or recommendation by Brown University Health. Find a Doctor search results are also not based on the volume or value of referrals to Brown University Health or its affiliates from any listed physician. Users are free to select their physician of choice from among all Brown University Health-affiliated medical staff physicians.

Mark A. Deitch, MD, MBA
Senior Vice President of Medical Affairs and Chief Medical Officer, The Miriam Hospital
Mark Deitch, MD, MBA, is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon and the senior vice president of medical affairs/chief medical officer at The Miriam Hospital. Dr. Deitch joined Brown University Health from WellSpan Health, an eight-hospital regional health system in south central Pennsylvania, where he was vice president of the orthopedic service line.
Dr. Deitch earned his bachelor’s degree at Brown University, and his medical degree at Stony Brook University School of Medicine. He completed his general surgery internship at Beth Israel Hospital in Boston, residency at New York’s Hospital for Special Surgery, and completed his fellowship in hand, microvascular, and upper extremity surgery at Cincinnati Hand Surgery Specialists.
Dr. Deitch served as an assistant professor in orthopedic surgery at both the University of Maryland Medical Center and the Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center. He also served as attending orthopedic surgeon at OrthoMaryland.
He is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and the American Society for Surgery of the Hand.
