Jessica L. Smith, MD, FACEP, is the director of Graduate Medical Education, designated institutional official, and associate chief medical officer at Brown University Health. She is a professor of emergency medicine, clinician educator, at The Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University.
Dr. Smith graduated from the University of Miami School of Medicine, completed her internship in general surgery at Washington Hospital Center, and went on to complete her emergency medicine training at Boston Medical Center, before joining the Brown EM faculty in 2006.
She is involved in emergency medicine advocacy at the national level, and is a mentor to medical students, residents, fellows, and faculty. Her academic focus and areas of expertise include graduate medical education, professional development, resident remediation, trauma, and critical care.
