“Find a Doctor” is operated by Brown University Health and includes all physicians who are on the medical staffs of Brown University Health-affiliated hospitals, without any charge to them. Selection is based upon your needs and preferences. Search results will first present, in alphabetical order, physicians employed or contracted with Brown University Health or its affiliates, followed by an alphabetical listing of physicians who are in Brown University Health’s network of affiliated providers. At the end of that initial list, you can access an alphabetical listing of community physicians with privileges at Brown University Health hospitals. All physicians in Find a Doctor have the opportunity to have a picture or video posted on the site. Neither the order of physicians, nor the presence or absence of a photo or video, in Find a Doctor is intended to reflect any preference, priority, or recommendation by Brown University Health. Find a Doctor search results are also not based on the volume or value of referrals to Brown University Health or its affiliates from any listed physician. Users are free to select their physician of choice from among all Brown University Health-affiliated medical staff physicians.

Jacqueline Nesi, PhD
Clinical Psychologist
Jacqueline (Jackie) Nesi, PhD is a clinical psychologist at Rhode Island Hospital and an assistant professor in the Department of Psychiatry and Human Behavior at The Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University.
Dr. Nesi’s research examines the role of social media in adolescents’ peer relationships and mental health, with a focus on depression and suicidal thoughts and behavior. She is currently funded by a K23 award from the National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH). She also writes the popular weekly newsletter Techno Sapiens, about technology and the people who use it.
Dr. Nesi earned her undergraduate degree in psychology at Harvard University and her graduate degree in clinical psychology at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. At Brown, she completed her predoctoral internship and American Foundation for Suicide Prevention-funded postdoctoral fellowship before joining the faculty in 2020.
Dr. Nesi is passionate about understanding how and for whom social media use influences adolescents’ mental health, so as to identify and intervene with youth most at risk.
