Director, Vascular Neurology Fellowship Program, Rhode Island Hospital
Christoph Stretz, MD, is a vascular and critical care neurologist at Rhode Island Hospital, and an associate professor of neurology and neurosurgery at The Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University. He is the program director for the vascular neurology fellowship.
Dr. Stretz completed neurology residency training at the University of Connecticut, and fellowship training in neurocritical care and vascular neurology at Yale New Haven Hospital. He is board-certified in neurology, vascular neurology and neurocritical care.
His clinical and research interests include the acute management and secondary prevention of recurrent strokes in patients with atrial fibrillation, the acute management, evaluation, and outcomes of patients with central retinal artery occlusion as well as the management and prognostic factors of patients with intracerebral hemorrhage.
He is a member of the American Academy of Neurology, the American Neurological Association, the Neurocritical Care Society and the American Heart Association, and serves as a reviewer for the journals Neurocritical Care, Frontiers in Neurology and Stroke.
