“Find a Doctor” is operated by Brown University Health and includes all physicians who are on the medical staffs of Brown University Health-affiliated hospitals, without any charge to them. Selection is based upon your needs and preferences. Search results will first present, in alphabetical order, physicians employed or contracted with Brown University Health or its affiliates, followed by an alphabetical listing of physicians who are in Brown University Health’s network of affiliated providers. At the end of that initial list, you can access an alphabetical listing of community physicians with privileges at Brown University Health hospitals. All physicians in Find a Doctor have the opportunity to have a picture or video posted on the site. Neither the order of physicians, nor the presence or absence of a photo or video, in Find a Doctor is intended to reflect any preference, priority, or recommendation by Brown University Health. Find a Doctor search results are also not based on the volume or value of referrals to Brown University Health or its affiliates from any listed physician. Users are free to select their physician of choice from among all Brown University Health-affiliated medical staff physicians.

Gabriela Lopez, PhD
Research Scientist and Clinical Psychologist
Gabriela López, PhD, is a clinical psychologist with the Young Adult Outpatient Psychiatry Program. She is an assistant professor at The Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University and a research scientist at Rhode Island Hospital.
Dr. López earned her doctorate at the University of New Mexico. She completed her residency in adult psychology at The Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University. She then completed postdoctoral fellowship at the Center for Alcohol and Addiction Studies at Brown University’s School of Public Health.
Dr. López provides an evidence-based person-centered approach. She incorporates patients’ unique experiences, values, and identities to help customize the work they do together. Examples of interventions that she uses include cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT). She also has an interest in working with mothers experiencing perinatal mood and anxiety disorders, people who identify as LGBTQ-plus, racial/ethnic minorities, and people who have multiple minority identities. Overall, she aims to create a safe space to help people be their authentic selves.
