“Find a Doctor” is operated by Brown University Health and includes all physicians who are on the medical staffs of Brown University Health-affiliated hospitals, without any charge to them. Selection is based upon your needs and preferences. Search results will first present, in alphabetical order, physicians employed or contracted with Brown University Health or its affiliates, followed by an alphabetical listing of physicians who are in Brown University Health’s network of affiliated providers. At the end of that initial list, you can access an alphabetical listing of community physicians with privileges at Brown University Health hospitals. All physicians in Find a Doctor have the opportunity to have a picture or video posted on the site. Neither the order of physicians, nor the presence or absence of a photo or video, in Find a Doctor is intended to reflect any preference, priority, or recommendation by Brown University Health. Find a Doctor search results are also not based on the volume or value of referrals to Brown University Health or its affiliates from any listed physician. Users are free to select their physician of choice from among all Brown University Health-affiliated medical staff physicians.

Brian Lurie, MD, MPH
Pediatrician
Brian Lurie, MD, MPH, is a pediatrician and the pediatric residency program director at Hasbro Children’s.
Prior to joining Hasbro Children’s, Dr. Lurie was division director of General Academic Pediatrics and medical director of Myers Park Pediatrics, an affiliate of Atrium Health in Charlotte, North Carolina. He held the same title previously with HealthStart Clinic, Atlantic Health System, Goryeb Children’s Hospital, in Morristown, New Jersey. Dr. Lurie was a pediatric hospitalist at The Children’s Hospital of Saint Peter’s University Hospital, New Brunswick, New Jersey, and began his medical career at North Shore Children’s Healthcare in Glenn Cove, New York.
During his time with Atrium Health, Dr. Lurie received the Gold Touchstone Award for an Atrium Health quality and patient experience project. He earned grant funding for several projects including an “Evaluation of a curriculum educating pediatric residents to care for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and questioning (LGBTQ) youth” (Association of Pediatric Program Directors), and “Examining outcomes for infants born to COVID 19+ mothers cared for virtually” (Atrium Health, Department of Pediatrics, Kueser Research Award).
Dr. Lurie has held several academic appointments including posts at The University of North Carolina School of Medicine, St. George’s University School of Medicine (Grenada), and The Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai (New York).
Dr. Lurie received his medical degree from The Sackler School of Medicine, New York State/American Program of Tel Aviv University. He went on to complete his residency at North Shore University Hospital in New York and obtain his master of public health degree from Columbia University.
He is a fellow member of the American Academy of Pediatrics and member of the Association of Pediatric Program Directors and Academic Pediatric Association.
