Cal Loiselle, LMHC-A, ATR (they/them), is a master’s level licensed mental health counselor and art therapist. Loiselle earned a BA in Youth Development with a concentration in visual arts from Rhode Island College (RIC). While there, Loiselle gained experience in the arts, education systems, social work, and nonprofit studies with youth through a social justice lens. Loiselle earned a certificate of undergraduate study (CUS) in nonprofit studies and further developed a passion for examining the ways power, privilege, and oppression affect mental health. Wanting to explore this more, Loiselle went on to study art therapy at Lesley University in Cambridge, MA, and earned a master's degree in art therapy and mental health counseling.
Loiselle integrates the exploration of materials and self in a developmentally appropriate manner to support identity development, strengthen self-esteem, and encourage self-expression of children and adolescents. Through this process, art therapy empowers clients and improves their mental health and overall wellbeing.
