“Find a Doctor” is operated by Brown University Health and includes all physicians who are on the medical staffs of Brown University Health-affiliated hospitals, without any charge to them. Selection is based upon your needs and preferences. Search results will first present, in alphabetical order, physicians employed or contracted with Brown University Health or its affiliates, followed by an alphabetical listing of physicians who are in Brown University Health’s network of affiliated providers. At the end of that initial list, you can access an alphabetical listing of community physicians with privileges at Brown University Health hospitals. All physicians in Find a Doctor have the opportunity to have a picture or video posted on the site. Neither the order of physicians, nor the presence or absence of a photo or video, in Find a Doctor is intended to reflect any preference, priority, or recommendation by Brown University Health. Find a Doctor search results are also not based on the volume or value of referrals to Brown University Health or its affiliates from any listed physician. Users are free to select their physician of choice from among all Brown University Health-affiliated medical staff physicians.

James R. Myers, MD
Jim Myers, MD, has been a member of Coastal since its inception. He is a pulmonary specialist and internist in East Providence, and is a Clinical Associate Professor of Medicine at Brown University. He is a graduate of Northwestern University, and received his medical degree from the University of Wisconsin. Dr. Myers did an internship at Presbyterian-University of Pennsylvania, and completed residency and Pulmonary fellowship at Brown University. He also was a visiting fellow at Brompton Hospital in London.
Dr. Myers was chosen "Physician of the Year" at Miriam Hospital in 2006, and has also been a frequent "Top Doc" in Rhode Island Monthly. He is a past president of the medical staff at Miriam Hospital.
Dr. Myers has a strong professional interest in asthma as well as lung cancer. He also helped found the Brown-Kenya project in Eldoret, Kenya, and has been participating in that project since 1998.
