Carolina Chiou is a board-certified ophthalmologist with specialized expertise in ophthalmic plastic and reconstructive surgery. She is highly skilled in managing a diverse range of conditions, including eyelids and tear drainage system dysfunctions, orbital malformations, inflammation and tumors, traumatic lacerations and fractures, and reconstructive and cosmetic concerns of the eyelids.

Dr. Chiou graduated magna cum laude from Florida International University, where she earned dual degrees in biological sciences and chemistry. She then went on to complete her medical training at Harvard Medical School. Following medical school, Dr. Chiou completed her ophthalmology training at the Harvard Ophthalmology Residency Training Program. She distinguished herself with exceptional clinical skills, which led to her acceptance into a prestigious ASOPRS fellowship in ophthalmic plastic and reconstructive surgery at Massachusetts Eye and Ear/Harvard Medical School. 

Beyond her clinical practice, Dr. Chiou is committed to advancing the field through research. She has presented her findings at both national and international conferences, and her work has been published in numerous peer-reviewed journals. In addition to her professional accomplishments, Dr. Chiou is passionate about helping underserved communities. This commitment began during her undergraduate years and has recently expanded through her involvement in global medical mission initiatives.

Dr. Chiou is fluent in Spanish.
