“Find a Doctor” is operated by Brown University Health and includes all physicians who are on the medical staffs of Brown University Health-affiliated hospitals, without any charge to them. Selection is based upon your needs and preferences. Search results will first present, in alphabetical order, physicians employed or contracted with Brown University Health or its affiliates, followed by an alphabetical listing of physicians who are in Brown University Health’s network of affiliated providers. At the end of that initial list, you can access an alphabetical listing of community physicians with privileges at Brown University Health hospitals. All physicians in Find a Doctor have the opportunity to have a picture or video posted on the site. Neither the order of physicians, nor the presence or absence of a photo or video, in Find a Doctor is intended to reflect any preference, priority, or recommendation by Brown University Health. Find a Doctor search results are also not based on the volume or value of referrals to Brown University Health or its affiliates from any listed physician. Users are free to select their physician of choice from among all Brown University Health-affiliated medical staff physicians.

Julia Schulkers, MS, APRN, FNP-C is a board-certified family nurse practitioner in Hasbro Children’s adolescent medicine division. Her interests include working with underserved populations and empowering patients of all backgrounds.
Schulkers earned a master of science degree in nursing from The Ohio State University. She then completed a primary care family practice residency at the Thundermist Health Center in Rhode Island with specialized training in transgender and gender diverse health and addiction medicine.
She is a licensed suboxone medical provider with advanced training from the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA).
Before joining Brown University Health, she worked as a nurse practitioner in community health with the Comprehensive Community Action Program in Warwick, Rhode Island and the Thundermist Health Center in Woonsocket, Rhode Island. In addition, she served as a United States Peace Corps volunteer organizing public health outreach and curriculum development in Nakonsawan, Thailand.
She is a member of the American Public Health Association and the American Association of Nurse Practitioners.
She is fluent in Thai.
